VinFast VF 8 Gets Better Range... But It's Still Not Good

After Tesla cut prices across its lineup, Vietnamese automaker VinFast is doing the same to stay competitive. The 2023 VinFast VF 8 City Edition Eco will now start at $49,000 (was $55,500), while the VF 8 Pro is now $56,000 (was $62,500). According to VinFast, customers also get an additional $3,000 off that MSRP. After a recent $500 price hike, the Tesla Model Y now starts at $53,490, meaning the VF 8 is now significantly cheaper.

With a lower starting price, VinFast was able to make its leasing contracts for the VF 8 a little cheaper. The Eco trim is now $519 per month with 10,000 miles per year for 24 months and $6,314 due upon signing. This fairing used to cost $599 per month to lease, but required less money ($5,774). Renters can now purchase the VF 8 Pro for $599 per month (was $699) with a discount of $6,314.
